What causes wrinkles?
The skin has several layers – the epidermis, dermis and sub-dermis. The dermis contains proteins that keep the skin taut and springy. As we age and as our skin is exposed to environmental stresses (sun is the major cause of skin damage), the collagen and elastin proteins in our skin begin to break down, creating voids and gaps – these “gaps” are wrinkles. Another cause of wrinkles is the skin’s inability to repair itself as we age by showing a significant slowdown in the creation of healthy cells.
Understanding the scientific basis allows us to look for innovative ways to repair, rejuvenate and protect the skin.
What is Collagen and why do we need more of it?
Collagen is a natural protein produced by our body, which resides in the dermis. Collagen is a necessary protein, crucial in helping our skin to maintain its durability and resilience. Without it, our skin will not remain taut, and wrinkles will form.
What about collagen injections?
Until recently, the only effective method for delivering collagen to the regenerating deeper layers of the skin has been injections that are both invasive and very expensive. With the use of Dermalactives it is no longer necessary to endure the painful and expensive injections. This is what makes the Dermalactives treatments such an incredible discovery.
What is Elastin?
Elastin is a natural protein produced by our body that is elastic and allows the skin to resume its shape after stretching or contracting. It resides in the dermis and hypodermis, the lower layers of the skin. Elastin is a necessary protein, crucial in helping our skin to maintain its flexibility. Without it, our skin will not remain taut and springy, and wrinkles will form.

How does Dermalactives Lifting Solution work?
After applying Lifting Solution on skin, treatment will dry clear. Temporarily tightens the skin, hence reducing appearance of wrinkles. More importantly, the treatment not only moisturizes but locks moisture in and by doing this it protects the skin from further damage.
How many applications will it take to remove all wrinkles?
It mostly depends on the individual and how he or she reacts to the treatment.
Should treatment be applied over or under makeup?
Lifting Solution can be applied over or under makeup. Without foundation and after moisturizing, dab treatment under eye starting from the inner corner and work outward, applying evenly. Then apply makeup with foundation, mix a drop or two of Lifting Solution with foundation and apply evenly. Lifting Solution can also be applied directly over makeup. Simply apply a thin layer evenly over makeup.
What if treatment dries too tight?
If you find the treatment feels too tight, apply a small amount of moisturizer or foundation on top of treatment.
What causes a white residue?
Using too much treatment or not moisturizing prior to use. Apply a thin layer and let dry. Apply additional layers if necessary.
What causes a puckering effect at the edges of application?
Application may not have been evenly applied.
